About Body Sugaring
The history
The art of body sugaring has actually been used for hundreds of years, though most people are only discovering it more recently. Because it can be made from only a few natural ingredients, it would have been easily accessible for those even centuries ago.
tHE DIFFERENCE
Sugar is made of entirely natural ingredients. You can actually ingest it and as you can probably imagine by its appearance, it has a striking resemblance to the taste of honey. Being that sugar is a natural preservative, it inhibits microbial activity. This natural ability protects the sugar from any bacterial growth.
Sugar also has the natural ability to dissolve with only water. This makes clean up after treatments much easier and gentle on skin. Our healthy skin cells are coated with a thin barrier of water. Because sugar is water soluble, the sugar paste will never adhere to any live skin; it does, however, adhere to dry, dead skin which actually provides a gentle exfoliant at the time of treatment.
The Technique
Our sugar only needs to be warmed to body temperature and with this advantage, we avoid irritation to the skin.
We extract the hair in the same direction it grows, which leads to less breakage and irritation to the surrounding skin.
We care about our client’s well being as well as the planet’s. We are proud to say that we use an all-natural, water soluble sugar paste. We don’t use any sticks or strips, creating less waste for a happier planet.
